Using the latest in 3D computer modelling, Clear Solutions International Ltd have developed and manufactured two unique soft rock/soil reamer which are specifically designed to increase penetration rate, minimise bit balling and torque and maximise the drilling fluids ability to remove the drilled cuttings from the bore hole.

The Extractor XT is available from 200mm (8”) – 400mm (16”) diameter and has the following features:
- Body manufactured from one piece high grade steel for maximum operating life.
- Durable field replaceable cutting blades are designed to drill soft sticky formations where bit balling has traditionally limited ROP. These cutters utilise enhanced cuttings management to produce smaller cuttings for optimised reamer cleaning efficiency. With the addition of hardening we have increased the operating envelop of the cutters to increasingly harder formations.
- Optimised jet nozzle configuration generates high hydraulic energy across the cutting face to clean areas susceptible to balling, whilst clean stream hydraulics direct flow up/down the bore hole to avoid over cutting the formation and maximise drilled cuttings removal from the borehole.
- Replaceable jets allow for customised hydraulics depending on the sized machine being used.
- Using advanced fluid dynamics the Extractor XT features large flutes to maximise drilled cuttings removal and reduce down hole pressure.
- The XT stabilisation system provides near 16 point stabilisation contact with the borehole wall. This new technology provides unequalled reamer stability which protects the cutting structure from damaging blows.
- The Hydraulic propeller section works to draw drilling fluid and drilled cuttings from the reamer section (the suction side) and push it out of the bore hole (the discharge side). By reducing the chance of pressure build up within the bore hole the XT Propeller creates smaller more manageable drilled cuttings, optimises drilling fluid returns, minimises cavitation and down hole vibration and reduces the risk of ‘frac out’.
The Extractor LT is available from 300mm (12”) – 900mm (36”) diameter and has the following features:
